I have replied more fully on GitHub, but the short version is that reverting to v0.24.7 resolves the issue and I'm now back to as I was a couple of days ago - ie both IPTV and satellite channels have EPG data, and a single channel appears in two genres.

TBH, that original "issue" was just an observation. I'm happy to ignore it if it proves difficult to resolve. Equally, I'm happy to co-operate with testing to correct it.

Did something change with the addon, I have two (windows 10) systems & the both systems' sling guide this morning was displaying 'no information available almost all of the channels, I reran merge & iptv simple again, and no change.

Have you tried disabling IPTV Simple Client and trying again? I think that it was Simple Client that was preventing my TVHeadend EPG from updating - though I'm not absolutely certain.

Obviously IP channels won't play without Simple Client running!

Not yet. I wanted to ask the question, since it affected two systems not just one.

Okay tried disabling and enabling iptv simple, no change

I also removed and readded sling in stremium, then reran merge and iptv simple and still the same

EDIT: I closed kodi, restarted, reran iptv simple and the rest of the guide populated

Can you please look into my problem.

I am running Kodi v20.2 on a Google TV and have IPTV Simple Client v20.13.0 and IPTV Merge v0.25.0 installed.

I have 2 concerns:

1) NOT THAT IMPORTANT: IPTV Merge is not showing status updates when performing a merge when "Merge every x hours" has been activated by expired hours. On the other hand when Manually running a merge it shows status updates in the top right corner of the screen.

2) IMPORTANT: The "Importing Guide from Clients" which should happen after the Merge is not occurring (therefore EPG is not updated) after performing a merge when "Merge every x hours" has been activated by expired hours. On the other hand when Manually running a merge the "Importing Guide from Clients" occurs and the EPG is filled with information.

Seems to have started to happen recently (latest version or last couple of versions?)

It is a long process everytime I open Kodi to watch TV as I need to manually run IPTV Merge (as I don't know whether it has run as it doesn't provide notifications that it is running even though it is) then clear the Guide data for it to "Importing Guide from Clients" to get a usable TV Guide.

You can't. What are you trying to set? You could add the props to the playlist coming in and you'll get them out

I want timeshift to work.
If i manually add

to each channel it works. But every time the merge happens I have to do it again. Or maybe I am just not understanding how it work, I just know it works when I do that.

oh yes, ive been wanting to add ffmpegdirect support for some time as per https://github.com/matthuisman/slyguy.addons/issues/538,

Possibly not the correct place to ask this, (where is?), but the index of @matthuisman 's list of m3u files etc at https://i.mjh.nz is missing the Pluto TV category - is there a reason for this please?

Also, none of my existing Pluto TV channels from older versions of those playlists appear to be working either. Have Pluto TV changed something to prevent them from working, (geoblocking?)?

The standalone official Pluto TV app is working, (in the U.K.) - I haven't tried either the "official" Kodi Pluto add-on or Matt's one.

plutotv just re-streams those anyway
