The note in first post sais this build is not needed anymore as the Omega has this option but in the Omega built it does not really work. I still get the black screen even if I activate DV compatibility mode.
Ther's no manual choise btw the HDR10+/DV.

You still need the build if you want to select between HDR10+ and/or Dolby Vision.

Oh... thanks.
Sorry I'm stupid I didn't realise the statment only reffers to the first part.
Thanks for this build, it works great!

Thank you very much first of all.
I installed the beta on my Xiaomi Tv box 2nd gen, and was pleasantly surprised, that all mkv and mp4 with dv ran without any problems.
Only the Nima4k release of John Wick 4, had frame drops after about 40 minutes. After i stoped and played again, I had a smooth picture again for about 40 minutes.

I'm not sure if it has negative implications.
It's only useful for profile 7 which has HDR10 fallback, so if your display doesn't support Dolby Vision you can disable it to avoid FEL blank screens.
Firstly, thanks for the time you've put into this @quietvoid.
Re the option to use Dolby Vision compatibility mode (convert from 7.6 to 8.1).
My tv does not support Dolby Vision, but it is still useful to enable this feature as it allows some videos to play on my Fire Stick 4k Max, which otherwise wouldn't.
What's the reason for only enabling this if your tv has Dolby Vision?
I did manage to repackage the apk to enable this feature, so can confirm it does work.

If the TV doesn't support Dolby Vision, it's better to just remove it instead.

I bought a Samsung oled which can play hdr10+ but not dolby vision. Thanks to this version here, I can play mkv's that support both dolby vision and hdr10+ in HDR10+ now.
thank you so much for this kodi fork

add an HDFury Arcana2 and your Samsung TV will support DolbyVision from ALL sources, not just kodi
I'm not paying a 1000+ only because of dolby vision

i have a somewhat contrary opinion.
i lived in a shared flat until recently and had a samsung myself and yes, with hdr10+ matieral it's great.
But when there was dolby vision content without hdr10+ and only hdr10 without plus as a fallback, I was very envious of the flat mates TV with dolby vision for content with a lot of dynamics

@quietvoid, thanks for all your work. Sorry if this has been asked, but if my display supports both HDR10+ & DV, what settings do you suggest? For a video with both HDR10+ & DV in it (like below), is it possible to have Kodi play one or the other when starting playback?

I don’t suppose there is any information on whether the disable dv or hdr setting will get authorised into master? Or do you know get that information until it happens?
