Deprecated Arctic Fuse
(2024-01-31, 22:51)Bindou Wrote: Hi,
I continue to explore the possibilities of this Skin, the work of which is remarkable, as always with Jurial. However, for me, its first limitation is ergonomic. I don't understand the choice to force the user to tap on the category icons, rather than just hover over them, like in Horizon 2. Is there a way around this in the options?

HS: Do any of you use this skin with Kodi 21 ; is it stable on your side? For my part, Widgets sometimes have difficulty loading, as well as some crashes.

Thanks
I'm using Omega nightly build 20231212 and its working very well.
Thanks for your return CouchGuy. Strange, I'm on CoreElec, maybe this explains it. Huh
Another subject:

@jurialmunkey, I love the integration of trailers (Netflix style), it's really great. The big plus would be that it is triggered automatically when you stop on the "Trailer" tab and above all that it stops automatically when you leave it. Because as it stands, it's too much trouble to stop it.
The new player control buttons in 'Options Menu' looks more polish. Love it!
Thanks @jurialmunkey!

Yeah it's actually much closer to how I was thinking it would be originally.

The problem I had before was that adding in the separator would add an extra half item high gap I couldn't fill without adding an extra element in (hence the clock). Finally had a little light bulb moment yesterday that I could simply move the baseline UP and put the controls underneath it instead of adding in an extra separator. Sometimes it's the simple solution that's hardest to realise!

Also, FYI, there's now an option to add a "Now Playing" tile in the top section.
Arctic Fuse 2 - Alpha now available. Support me on Ko-fi.

That's because the side icons are **not** categories, they are shortcuts.
The categories are the horizontal list with the pill shaped buttons in the middle of the screen under the spotlight.

Use "Classic" layout if you want the side buttons to be categories instead.

I was wondering the exact same thing.
Does anyone know a way to bind opening the hub windows, for example 1130 for the calendar, to a remote button or keyboard press? I usually just use the Keymap Editor but can't find them in there, I assume they are skin specific?

Apologies for my ignorance!
1. Where do I find the 'Options Menu'?
2. Where do I find the option to add a 'Now Playing' tile?

Both sound great, but not sure where to find them.

Options menu is the menu used to get to the settings. Burger icon bottom left of home screen (assuming you haven't minimised the side menu, otherwise it is middle left). Pressing S will also open it.

In widget customisation, you can customise it by clicking on the bottom left icon.

You did great! Looks much cleaner.

1. Thanks for the info Jurial, I understand better. Furthermore, the tutorial that you integrated into the interface and which accompanies the construction of the Widgets is great! So many great ideas in this Skin. Unfortunately, I haven't yet found the time to redo all the work I did on Horizon 2 and bring it back here. So for now the magnificent Horizon 2 remains my main interface. When time permits, I build little by little in Fuse. But I still have many hours of work to recover ergonomics comparable to Horizon 2. This leads to my second question.

2. I can't find a way to restore the interface (Widgets, lists, categories, etc.) from Horizon 2 to Fuse. I followed the path you suggested, but without success. Sorry if the problem is mine. In any case, a simple way to copy the entire interface from one to the other would be extremely encouraging, because it would allow you to start on a good basis without having to start over again.

3. I don't know if you had time to read what I wrote about the automatic shutdown of Trailers. Do you think this will be possible one day?

Thanking you very much.
@jurialmunkey Simple reflection, I notice that the top of the interface is poorly used (lots of empty space). We particularly realize this if we compare to Netflix for example, whose summary is on 3 lines, and the title of the film at the top of the screen. On Fuse this gives the effect that everything is compacted in one place, stuck to the Widget. I believe it's because the upper lines at the top of the screen are reserved for displaying the category. Something that I found essential in Horizon 2, since when we went down into the categories, we no longer had the navigation bar in sight. Apart from here, the philosophy tends towards the idea of leaving the icons of the navigation sidebar visible, like Netflix. Therefore, the naive question I ask, is it essential to leave this text (category name) at the very top of the screen?

Hi @jurialmunkey

It would be possible to add 2 new visual features in this beautiful skin?

1- Show discart in OSD or info for movies and music
2- Enable extended widget view

I don't know if it's hard to create this features but I think the skin would look even better.

Thank you
