YouTube 7.0.1 add-on in KODI "The following content is not available on this app."
#16
Hi Diplomat,
Im not certain, but like with YouTube Downloaders, every so often YouTube switches things around and old versions of software stop working. It could be in this case that the Latest YouTube AddOn is not all that compatible with the older version of Kodi.
I certainly, don't like to download the latest versions of software until Im sure they are going to work spot on, but at the moment, I have everything Kodi up to date and with a few tiny probs, everything is running fine.
My Sugggestion would be to update your Kodi to Nexus, and try the latest Release of the YouTube Addon.
If at all possible, keep a backup of your Users data folder, I don't know if thats the same on Pi as it is on the PC but im sure its there somewhere.
Good Luck

Thanks for the info all. I was having the 'content not available...' message until I upgraded to Nexus and installed plugin.video.youtube-6.8.26.alpha5.zip.

All good....for now!

Issue resolved by new Youtube addon version (unofficial as yet).
Simply go here: https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.vide.../7.x.x-dev
Download this one: plugin.video.youtube-unofficial-7.0.2.alpha7.zip

And install it in addons via "install from zip file" - you can do it over your existing Youtube addon, and just make sure you set up the API keys as needed (if you don't know what to do, follow this guide: https://www.firesticktricks.com/create-y...i-key.html)

Good luck!

It worked for me like a charm!  Smile

Sweet... new one works for me too. Thanks!

Interestingly my LibreELEC build didn't have the issue with the previous default build. But Kodi on Windows did until I updated to 7.0.2.alpha7... odd.

From time to time the error reappears. E.g., April 2024, Kodi 20.3, LibreELEC 11.0.6, RaspBerry Pi 3, YouTube addon 7.0.4.

Solution: De-activate YouTube addon auto-update and look for an older working YouTube addon version. In my case, 7.0.3.1...

You can download releases here.

For me, kodi 19 matrix on windows, many versions I tried did not work, however the following version of the youtube addon worked:
plugin.video.youtube-7.0.3.1.matrix.1.zip
