Ugoos am6b with CoreELEC
Reply
Hi all

Ok just wanted to ask I have Minix U22X-J (Max) and would like to know do you think any other device will ever get this DV like these two devices now as I am trying to decided if I should buy another Minix U22X-J (Max) before their all gone as you never k ow the device might brake and then your back to square one.

Do you think the Ugoos AM6+ will be coming to an end like the minix.

Just deciding if I should get another for backup if the next version will not have the dev support like this device.

Thanks

Does anybody knows whether Flirc Skip 1s with its own dongle is working on Ugoos AM6B+ with CoreElec? If not, is there any recommend remote other than the provided one which is confirmed to work properly with this device?
Thank you in advance

I'm using a OSMC remote with mine which works perfectly (although they seem to have gone up in price since I last ordered one)

When we launched them in 2015 they were £22.99. The price has actually decreased over time (not many things do these days sadly).

I apologise, I thought they were a bit cheaper a couple of years ago.
I have 3 of them in daily use so would say they are worth every penny

It may depend whether you bought them directly from us or a reseller.

Is there any way of getting Dolby Vision to work on an Odroid N2+? I know there is a missing license but the solution for Ugoos am6b was a dual boot with android, is this something you could also do with the N2+ to get Dolby Vision?

The Ugoos AM6B+ has a AMLogic 922x-J/K chip, wich is licenced for DolbyVision, while the N2+ only have 922x Chip without a DV licence, so there will be no DV on these devices.

Because of different SoC versions on these devices, it won't work on N2+; a different method can (maybe) be used. Look at this post on CoreElec forum with interesting ideas klick

Oh i see, i've read somewhere that the SoC there wasn't licensed too but that seems to be wrong now.

Thanks for the coreelec forum link, i will check that out Smile

The S922X in N2+ is not licensed, only versions S922X-J/K are; on the CoreElec link is a description of a method how to circumvent that and bring DV to non licensed SoC.

Nice to see 3D MVC working with CE. There seem to be bugs as expected at this stage, but having 3D and hopefully dovi.ko with CE 22 will make Ugoos the truly the best Kodi do-it-all local media player.
