Kodi crashing during library scan
#1
Hi everyone, I'm using a Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 on my main TV and just got an Onn. Google TV 4k pro to use on my basement TV.
I exported my library from the Shield and imported it to the new Onn box.

Before doing this, I had crashes on my Shield during library scans and the crashes are persisting on both the Shield and the Onn box.

My media library is an external HDD hooked into my Asus wireless router and shared through the network via SMB.

Here's a log from my Onn box since I'm currently working on that one. Would anyone be able to help troubleshoot the cause of these crashes?

The log you provided was uploaded by the Logfile Uploader addon, so it can't possibly be the log that captures the crash.
You need to upload the kodi.old.log file instead if you are using the addon.

Do you know where I can find that on android? I was using this logfile uploader addon just to easily find and upload the log since getting into the android filesystem can be a pain.

Yep, that's it.

Last two lines...
xml:
debug <general>: CSMBFile::Open - opened smb://RT-AX88U-5CE0/easystore/Media/TV Shows/K-Project (2012)/Subtitles/other untimed.zip, fd=10000
error <general>: Seek - Error( -1, 22, Invalid argument )
Try deleting that zip file and let us know if it now scans without crashing.

I deleted it and so far, so good. Thank you for the help! I'm a little embarrassed I didn't find that myself but I learned about the proper logfile location and everything so I appreciate the help so much!

You are welcome.

Do you have many \Subtitles\ folders? If you do, maybe set up an exclusion for those folders... https://kodi.wiki/view/Advancedsettings....wsfromscan
or
add a .nomedia file into the folder

That's a great idea. I'll set that up asap!

Hi there.
Searching the forums I found this topic and I think I have a similar issue.
My TV Box is also the ONN. 4k Pro. I have a fresh installation of Kodi 21.1
During the library scan (either a manual one, either after I have enabled the option to "update library at startup", KODI crashes.
I have posted the logs here.
Any ideas ?
