Vu+ PVR addon is getting updates again
(2022-06-15, 09:27)Peekstra Wrote: The KODI box is a Vero 4K unit running on the latest OSMC build. And on the Enigma side, that's a VU+ UNO 4K SE with OpenPLi and the latest updates which includes webif 1.5.1.

I don't suspect that my Kodi box has a memory leak as it was working without any problems with the previous box and hasn't received an update since that time. I do suspect some kind of a timing issue the new receiver is connected to my NAS and doesn't have an internal harddisk. Although the NAS is always on, maybe some commands take a bit longer and there's a timeout? The NAS is always on so no long wakeup procedure is happening there plus it has a SSD cache as well.

Until now, I've always used the deep standby feature and just as with your receiver, Kodi will reconnect with the box when it becomes available again. However I could disable deep standby for now check if Kodi keeps working. This will take some time as the PVR connection can be stable for over a day in the current situation.

Is there a way to see the results of the openwebif commands which Kodi sends?

I meant a leak in your VU+ device.

No way to see the results outside of copying the URL from the debug log and pasting it into a browser or using curl to retrieve it.

Now that this problem has been resolved I started looking into the other issue: deleting a recording often fails the first time that I execute the command. And I just discovered that this only seems to happen when the option group items has been turned on and the item is part of a group. I use autotimer a lot so this goes for most of my recordings.

The first (failed) attempt to delete a recording is at 8:25 and the second time is done at 8:33

Debug log

Hopefully, you're able to reproduce this issue. Thanks!

Would you mind posting your issue at the addons GitHub? Just click the repo link in my signature and then issued.

I’ll probably need more details and it’s easier to manage the discuss there. Thanks!

Those are info level logs.

Why do you want to remove them?

And you are very welcome 😉

hey, I didn't want to start a whole new thread just in case but I'm using a clean install of Kodi on my Sony Bravia TV from the Android TV Google Play store and I'm getting what seems to be a fairly common issue in that I get the "Starting PVR" message stuck at 0% forever.

My box is a zGamma Zedo H8.2H and I've got everything set up and connected and working nicely on Plex but I'd really like to get it working on Kodi if possible.

I've entered the correct IP and port of the box into the add-on and I haven't altered any of the other settings and i can't seem to figure it out.

I've attached a log file (if I've done it right) and any thoughts would be very helpful, thanks.

Why not open a new thread? They don't cost anything and there is no reason to assume this thread covers all or any problems.

Most like it it is this

I often get yelled at if i join a forum and start a new thread about something so i'm often way too cautious .. lol.   As it is, i re-installed the plugin and just entered the IP address of the box and it worked - it seemed to have an issue with me entering the port number originally so leaving that out seems to have solved it, or at least half of it as I now have to figure out how to get Kodi to pick up EPG data, icons e.t.c..

I've never had one of these enigma boxes before so it's all a bit of a learning curve.

You should just get epg for free, I.e. if you have epg on your enigma box, you should have it on Kodi too. Icons can be some fiddling with settings as different E2 images use them slightly differently.

Thanks.  I did eventually figure out how to get the EPG data and managed to get Kodi to read it all but I still couldn't figure out how to get the icons.

I installed a set of picons from the plugins menu on the box which worked perfectly fine on the EPG on that but wouldn't transfer through to Kodi.

So go to the settings of the addon in kodi and there are a number of options for icons.

They are under the general tab, may need to change the settings to expert level. There are 3 options to play with.

Tried all of them.  The best I got was what I can only describe as "placeholder" icons with a blue square saying (i think) "webif icon".   I'm going to give it a rest for a while now though as Plex does everything I need it to do and is fully set up with the Zgamma box and working perfectly.   I'll re-visit this somewhere down the line as I do prefer Kodi over Plex but I'm not quite in the mood to keep hacking at this for now.

Appreciate the replies though, thanks.
