When I press the next track on the remote the Kodi player fast forwards.

Am I doing someting wrong?  Configured the remote, I have buttons set up for fast forward and rewind.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, I managed to find the key mapping screen, I tried using the round cursor button to skip tracks. To no avail, watching the Kodi player the cursor goes from icon to icon when I press the remote buttons.

Very frustrating, having spent 60 quid on a remote and Flerc dongle. I was surprised ithe remote actually worked actually works, but when I press next track, it goes fast forward.

Very few options on the software for playing music on your PC, Kodi and Plex.

Have you programmed the FLIRC dongle? I don't own one but I thought the whole point is that the dongle provides the mapping from received IR signal to a standard keyboard key press. So it seem to me that the dongle reacts with an f key for fast forward when you press that button on the remote, so you use FLIRC software to change it to Ctrl f for skip next.

would also be good to know which remote you are trying to use - are we talking about the SKIP1 from FLIRC or some other remote?

It is the Skip 1 remote and the Flirc dongle Gen 2.

Was not aware you could do anything with the dongle, I just stiuck in my PC USB port.

Yep there is a download on the Flirc page, windows defender does not like it.

Thanks, I will see what is possible with the driver installed.

Thanks for the suggestion, much appreciated.  I programmed the Skip 1 remote with the Flirc software - it is only the up/down/left/right and back buttons and then you are done.

Now the remote will play the next track when I press up, the next/previous track buttons on the remote still cause the Kodii player to go into fast forward mode.

This is all I wanted, put a player on shuffle and use the remote to skip tracks.  Kodi has a 'Songs' in the music menu, so every album you have it will shuffle tracks from them, ignoring the fact they are in seperate album folders.

Hopefully with help others if they Google the same problem.

Downloaded the driver and configured it, now I have a remote that works. I had a Stroke, I miss these details. Should have noticed the download.

Thanks for the help!
