Alpha Arctic Fuse 2
@jurialmunkey
Hi, first of all thank you for all your awesome skins.
Would you consider adding a List view for the Files mode (like in stock estuary or original AZ),
with thumbnails/poster on the left, time + size at the end of the list item and media/codec tags on the bottom of the view?
I see that there's a list view available in the skin, but sadly it cannot be assigned to Files (which I still use a fair share in addition to the library).
Thanks!

probably been asked already but, any chance of a context menu or similar in movies and music to allow easy access to ‘update library’ for them without adding a home button or browsing a load of settings please?

You can add buttons to the options menu which opens onback/onleft from the home screen.

You can modify this menu in Widgets Customisation screen from the "Options" button at the bottom.
You can find the Update Library shortcut under the "Kodi Commands" folder when adding a new shortcut.

- actor info showing combination of local library and tmdb info
- alternate movie versions showing in movie info screen
- video codec labels
- and some other stuff

Of course it's still alpha so who knows what might happen in the future Smile Even though I suppose you will not continue development on Fuse 1, I will stick to that for now.

Will check on Fuse 2 now and then. Interested to see where it is going. Lots of luck with it!

Video codecs are show in the info dialog along with the label for the video version.

I'm not sure what "Actor info showing combination of local library and tmdb info" is referring to...?

Not sure what "some other stuff" is either! Rofl

- Ah yes I missed the codecs in the info screen. I also see the version label, but I especially liked how Fuse 1 shows all versions in landscapes and you can select the version there.

- Well in the movie info screen if you click on an actor and then info, it shows their bio. Below that it shows the movies they were in. In Fuse 1 you can have that show the movies in your local library at the front.

- Yes "other stuff" makes no sense. Sorry about that. I saw some other things but didn't want to make too much of it in my post.

Also I spend a lot of time configuring Fuse 1. So I guess I was just a bit disappointed that I couldn't transfer it to Fuse 2 and Fuse 1's development has likely stopped now. Having to redo it all seems a bit soon. I feel Fuse 1 is not that old. It's why I'll stick to Fuse 1 for at least a while longer.

Again, I'll keep an eye on Fuse 2 and when/if I do switch to Fuse 2, I will of course post any issues or feature requests on github.

Versions can be added to the screen with cast etc. easily. Only reason it doesn't exist is because it hasn't been requested and it wasn't a feature I used (I have the option set to open versions in a folder so I just play from there). No reason it can't be added, but Id only think to add it if someone specifically requested it.

Movies in the library being up front is just a sorting issue. It was requested that these lists be sorted by year descending, so that's why it was changed (and I just used Kodi's inbuilt sort so its overriding the special sorting by TMDbHelper). No reason that movies with a DBID can't be upfront, but it needs to be requested so that I'm aware that it is a desired feature.

Question is, is that the way kodi works or have I missed a setting? .If not it seems counter intuitive as I'd like to see the show info before going into a season and then episode.
Loving the skin as a whole, appears faster and more streamlined than AF. Still like AH mind.

That's the way Kodi works.

Default select option is only for playable items. Folders are always browsed when pressing select. Skin can't really control this behaviour

Thanks for the explanation, on an android device I found bringing up the context menu and clicking on info does the trick so only 1 extra click.

As always thank you and beyond excellent support, found them both from your explanation.
Anything in skin already to remove Kodi version from end/bottom of each widget screen?

Alternatively you can use the Keymap Editor add-on to remap a remote button to open the info page, no need to do it via context menu then.

That's how I have it so it's consistent.

Very fast, powerful, nice and neat skin. Congrats for your job.
Unfortunately I can't find in lists/views/whatever a way to display technical information of my movies: video codec, screen ratio, sound codec, number of channels and what else, like in Artic Zephyr Reloaded for example.
It might be useless for many, but I can't live without as I do plenty of tests with my files. Please tell me if it's even possible and if so, how.
Thank you very much for your work indeed.

Any idea why if I'm on the main screen, I can scroll to the right from the Discover section and down through all the different categories (Movies, TV shows, etc) but if I'm on the menu and scroll down (from Discover down to Movies, TV shows, etc) I can't navigate to the right and it doesn't update to show the widgets for that section and the right side just stays darkened? Does that make sense?!?!

If I need to I can upload a video to show it better.

You can see codec details in the information screen by pressing info on remote or i on keyboard (or long press select to open context menu and choose "Information")

It sounds like the first widget in each group does not have content.

When you scroll through the side items, the skin tries to focus the first widget ID in the group. If it has no items, Kodi cannot redirect focus there. There is no good way to address this in the skin to then check the second (or third or fourth etc.).

The only solution is to ensure that the first widget you choose for each group is something that will definitely always load with items (e.g. don't choose "In-progress Movies" as your first widget in the movies category if it regularly is empty, use something like "Random Movies" or "Recently Added Movies" for the first widget and then put in-progress after it).

EDIT: I said there was no good way to deal with it, but I ended up having a bit of lightbulb moment and coming up with a sensible/sane solution that addresses this issue. Hopefully from 2.0.17 onwards it shouldn't be a problem any more and can put in-progress widgets first again (if that's how you'd prefer the widget order of course!)

Few more days of using this v AH2 and it seems much more "light weight" on the firestick resources. Loving it. One thing I really liked in AH2 was it showing the framerate of content on that "video" pop up under the seek bar. Its very very minor but would love to see that added to AF2 so I didn't have to click into that video pop up to see it.
