Alpha Arctic Fuse 2
(2024-10-28, 04:56)boldish Wrote: I was pressing up, right, back in a bunch of combinations and was legit stuck. (I'm on a Ugoos AM6B+ running Coreelec).

Hi. This is a bit off topic, but I am thinking of getting that Ugoos AM6B+ as well, to replace my Shield Pro as I am disappointed with the Shield's performance.

I was wondering if Arctic Fuse 2 runs smoothly on the Ugoos with Coreelec? How is the performance when browsing the library and when viewing the OSD dialogs?

I feel it's all quite stuttery and slow on the Shield. It also can desync when opening OSD dialogs. I don't think any of these problems are caused by Arctic Fuse 2 by the way. I just feel the Shield is not a smooth enough experience with Kodi, no matter the skin used. I hope the Ugoos does a better job. If you could share your experience with it, that would be much appreciated.

That's really good! Thank you!

One last thing is that this widget is called "Titles". I tried renaming in the skin but it doesn't change the title on top of the widget. Any idea about this one?

Any chance we can get some enhancements for the PVR view for additional infos?
I've updated my View_PVR_Full to this:

I have added episode title and season/episode in the first row (If no episode e.g. movie, just display genre) and in the second row, the plot.
Would love to see something similar upstream.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I found it too confusing. Gave up. His previous skins were so easy to configure.

It's actually much easier to configure than AF1.
If you want Home with horizontal menu layout and fullscreen spotlight:

Choose an empty hub
Change mode
Configure
Use as home

Thanks for your help.
I managed to set up a horizontal menu. I have one more question, is it still possible to have the options menu, bottom of the home screen, similar to AF1?

Super smooth. But you probably do need to make sure to install the OS onto the flash and set whatever recommend 200/400 setting that the guides recommend.

Woops meant to quote this in my previous response.

I broke the UI again, accidentally added all my movies as like categories in Discover.
My AM6B+ player did NOT like that, boot loops the skin until it enters safe mode.

I need to ssh into /storage/.kodi.FAILED to access the existing addon settings for the skin.

Great skin, I'm definitely liking it so far.
But if you are going to play around with the settings and configuring things, I strongly recommend enabling ssh and familiarizing yourself with the folder structure of your device (i.e. where the addons and the source/settings for the skin reside).

You're welcome! Currently, there is no option for that.

Great, thanks for sharing. I've ordered one.

Hi @jurialmunkey
Is it okay to have this? It's like when you're at the bottom of Home, you just press down and it will open custom hub that you want. And maybe an additional fancy big poster widget style? Haha...

Ok a bit of a convoluted question…

I have two options…

Use default Home hub, then I’d like to add unwatched movies as a widget to the Movies category;

Use (customised and preferred) ‘1101 hub’ as Home, then I’d like to add favourites as a widget (same scrolled posters as default home does as favourites widget, not the ‘activated’ vertical list).

Either of these possible, and if so how please?

Edit: never mind, I worked it out. If you want the same I went with second option and although favourites isn’t a selectable widget the code is the same (Favourites://) as default home hub was.
Option one is also viable with
 special://skin/extras/playlists/UnwatchedMovies.xsp
as your action and don’t forget to rename the widget (it says unwatched movies but will show as none if you don’t)

I only just found out there is an AF2, while being on AF for the last 6 months. Great to see some tweaks I really enjoy over AF (like plot info has more space, while still showing the other key info)

I'm actually very happy with AF2, and it is working quite well natively on my TCL C89B/C855 tv.
Keeping the Shield TV as a backup,

@jurialmunkey Just thought I'd make you aware your repo has not been pushing out updates like it usually goes for fuse 2 for me, i had to manually install the latest version from now from being at 2.2.1

This is a you problem not a repo problem, mine just updated. Try a manual update, make sure auto updates hasn’t changed somehow and see how it goes for next couple of days. I did have a ‘lock up’ on auto updates before but that fixed it.
If the repo wasn’t working there’d be far more than one post Wink
