Occasional freezes during playback
#1
I am running a recent build of the GIT source (20110725-8346a6c) on the following system.

OS : Arch Linux, 32 bit
Hardware : Mac Mini mid-2010, 2G RAM
Kernel : 2.6.39
NVidia drivers : 275.09.07

On one particular movie, when playback starts, XBMC shows the usual 15-20 dropped frames during the first second. Playback continue flawlessly until a certain point about 42 minutes into the movie where is appears to freeze for a fraction of a second. XBMC reports some dropped frames at this point and displays the following in the log.

DEBUG: CPullupCorrection: detected pattern of length 1: 41708.33, frameduration: 41708.333

This happens at 19:18:20 in the debug log, linked below.

The freeze happens at the same point every time I play this movie, as long as I play it from close to the start. If I start playing at say 35 minutes into the movie, when it reach that same point @ 42 minutes, it will not freeze.

Also, when it freezes, If rewind a bit and play over the same point, it doesn't freeze.

I have several movies that seem to exhibit this problem at certain points in the movie. Most of my movies play flawlessly from start to end, but a small number experience these glitches.

I have tried extracting the video track from the MKV using mkvextract and playing just the video. It has the same problem.

Any ideas on how to overcome this problem?
