[iPad2] using mySQL and trying to work off-line
#1
Hi,

XBMC is working perfectly on my iPAD2 with the DB shared via mySQL (when I'm on my local network).
but...
When i travel, i place some movies localy on the iPad and use "file mode" to access them.
The problem is that XBMC won't start because it's trying to connect to the mysql server.
The only workaround that I have found is to change my advancedsettings.xml file while I'm offline.

Is there a better solution ?
- using profile ?
- having a timeout when not finding the mysql server ?

Thank in advance for your help,

Eric

Using profiles has become the best solution for that.

These links should help get you started:

Feel free to reply to those threads or to this thread if you need any additional help.

There's also Jezz's new touch skin that's currently in development: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=105142
I'm not sure off hand if it has any special way to access profiles, but I do believe Jezz is aware of the desire for it.

What Ned said. I had the exact same issue as you.

I use profiles (make the default profile your off-line profile). And I also use the touch skin referenced above. You can easily switch profiles using that skin.
