OS X ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X!
(2013-03-31, 01:18)MariusTh86 Wrote: Apparantly xbmc wants to hide the actors folder from the user, whereas I'd like the user to know exactly what my app does, and where it places everything, rather then finding themselves with a folder size that is bigger then it seems it should be to 'average' users.
I don't like hiding things behind other people's backs. ^^

The shell path within the .nfo file should help XBMC find the images. (As long as XBMC runs on the same computer as ViMM runs on)

Well, I'm not accessing from the same machine b/c I'm using a NAS - but I'm not "average" either. I was kinda surprised they'd put something a hidden folder. Just a thought though on resolving the two issues - how about putting the actors in ".actors" and creating a symlink called "actors"?

Actually, I might do it the other way around, using an invisible symlink. ^^

I've just come across this error when doing an "Update List"

Enjoy!

Perfect timing billy. Tongue

Not sure yet why that's happening, but i'll try and find out.
Try removing some of the movie sources from the preferences and re-adding them one by one to find out which source might be causing the problem.

uhoh! on the newest version (0.17 I think...) clicking "replace" when changing a backdrop for a movie deletes the old backdrop - but doesn't download the new one!

This occurs if i right click on a series, (in this case 'First Life with David Attenborough' but it seems to apply to all) and then click Fetch Meta Data & Replace Images. If I chose 'Don't replace' there is no crash.

If it helps, these directories have already been scraped by Ember, so there are images/nfo files in the folder already. Here's the listing:

Code:
ls /Volumes/pool/Video/TV/Documentaries/First\ Life\ \(2010\)
BBC.David.Attenboroughs.First.Life.1of2.Arrival.nfo

In your trace I see 'move to trash' - not sure if that'd be possible on this volume as it is mounted from my NAS.

Thanks.

Hi there, I made sure I removed and added the only 1 movie source, but still got this when I did an "Update List"

Fixed the move to trash error in the latest release, and I think I just found the "Update List" error, in which case, that should also be fixed in the upcoming bug fix release. ^^

I notice in the latest release notes you mentioned that .actors was now supported however when re-scraping my media the folder was created just as actors with the "." in front, how do I change this behavior?
