Hello,
I used to run XBMC on a PC. Now i´m moving everything to a Mac. But i´m running in some problems to get things running as i want. Mostly related on how to handle my files/folders with ViMediaManager and XBMC to get a self-contained library. I never used ViMediaManager before.
Basically i want that XBMC use the all the items (posters, backdrops, cdart etc etc) that i've downloaded and managed with ViMediaManager, instead of downloading and storing that stuff in obscure places by itself (for me at least).
I intend to document all the process in the hope to help others, but i need some help to clarify certain things. There's a lot of documentation spread around but with so many variables, skins configs etc it's hard to get a sense of where to start or what to do first.
Since i have to start from scratch on my Mac, i want to take this opportunity to document it all, step by step. And so here am i.
I picked VIMediaManager to manage my media library and added just one movie to keep things simple.
I have selected XBMC as my media player in the dialog that appears in the beginning and keep all the default settings and naming conventions in the preferences.
After fetching the data here's what i got:
http://clipitto.com/5dXKfy
The nfo file was created by ViMediaMAnager during the process.
The problem i´m having is that XBMC doesn't use all that data.
It is just using:
- The Kings of Summer (2013)-fanart (for the background)
- The Kings of Summer (2013)-poster (for the cover)
- extrafanart forder (to cycle backgrounds)
Neither the disc.png or logo.png are being picked by XBMC. Now i know this depends on the skin and view types used. I´m using
Arctic mk. II and when i choose in the
view options->
show discart it doesn't work.
If i go to
movie info and select
choose art and then
discart it loads the art downloader add-on and tries to get it from internet (that's what i want to avoid).
My question is how to make it pick the disc.png file that already exists in the movie folder instead?
Thank you
