Ripped this form another site. Has anyone heard of it?

XBMC For Android

Quote:We have been keeping a little secret.. the kind that is so much fun to share when the time comes.

Today we announce XBMC for Android. Not a remote, not a thin client; the real deal. No root or jailbreak required. XBMC can be launched as an application on your set-top-box, tablet, phone, or wherever else Android may be found.

The feature-set on Android is the same that you have come to expect from XBMC, no different from its cousin on the desktop. Running your favorite media-center software on small, cheap, embedded hardware is about to become a hassle-free reality. And as Android-based set-top-boxes are becoming more and more ubiquitous, it couldn’t be a better time. In fact, primary development was done on a Pivos XIOS DS set-top-box. And that is no coincidence, you will notice that Pivos is now listed as an official sponsor (more on that later). XBMC is stable and works great there, as well as on various tablets and phones. Though with Android, as many of you probably know, that is only the beginning of the story.

Too bad we couldn't look in the future, since this box will now work(once they release XBMC for android to the masses).

It still won't work, you need this one by the company:

Pivos XIOS DS: http://www.pivosgroup.com/#!vstc3=products/vstc0=xios

The one your referring to in this thread is not the Andriod player... So it will only work with the Pivos XIOS DS and not the AIOS HD MC.

that's a shame as the AIOS looks more attractive than the XIOS to me...

Is there any estimated timeline on the release? I'm looking at buying a couple of units to hook up to two TVs in my house that will run XBMC and pull from my HTPC in another room. I was trying to find ATV2's since they are so cost effective and meet my needs, but I missed the affordability on those by about 3 months. Is this something that would be a wise buy if I'm hoping to ditch cable at the end of August?
Main HTPC: i5-2500k Sandybridge 3.3Ghz - ASRock Z68 - Radeon HD6950 2GB - 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws - 64GB Crucial M4 SSD - 500GB HDD storage
Master Bedroom: G530 - ASRock H67M - 4GB Kingston HyperX - 160GB Seagate 2.5"
Living Room: Xbox 360 Media Center Extender
