I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum or if it's been asked before, as I couldn't find anything.
I have several hundred DVDs. I am looking to rip them to be "XBMC-friendly" and I wasn't sure how to even get started. If anybody can just point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a preferred container? Concerned about size/space? Want to retain the extras?
You'll need to answer some of those to get the best advice to your options.

No preferred container. Space isn't that big of any issue. Extras aren't necessary.
Sorry. I'm just very new to this.

Awesome. Thanks.
I'm just curious: What would I do if I wanted extras?

Okay. Thanks so much, guys. I'm just a little overwhelmed with all the software options out there. It's nice to have a little bit of help.

The only way. I have 400+ .iso files in my NAS (2.7TB). I have licenced DVDFab,
1. rip the dvd into one full .iso with DVDfab. Then you have master-version to convert to any device if needed (ipad & tablet...)
2. rename the file to IMDB's hit like "Die Hard - With a Vengeance (1995)".
3. Use Xbmc's library so that All movies are scraped from imdb.
