Crashes during music playback (atv2)
#1
I'm using xbmc per 11.0 Git:20111116-57ba0cb

Randomly xbmc crashes during music playback. So far I couldn't find any real patterns but I think it happens more often with a big playlist (more than 40 tracks in the now playing list).

Here's the log:

If you get an actual crash where xbmc terminates can you please provide a crashreport and syslog. There is nothing odd in the xbmc.log

Will do. Which are the correct crashlog files in /private/var/mobile/Library/Logs/CrashReporter and /private/var/log/syslog? Crashreporter is full of files called logaggregated followed by a date.

something like AppleTV_2011-11-20-150123_Wohnzimmer-AppleTV.plist ... if the number of crashlogs in that folder exceeds a limit the crashlog is printed into the syslog ... then you should delete some of them for getting them written the next time ...

It just happened again.

Here's the xbmc log:

http://pastebin.com/bwWCV74c

Syslog:

http://pastebin.com/pKQtaKV6

The dates are odd though.

I deleted a lot of files in the crashreporter folder. I'll see what I can provide when it happens the next time.

What? Really, bummer, but how? I disabled the apple hosts (at least I thought I did) or installed updatebegone Blush Well, doing what's written in the FAQs fixes it though, doesn't it?

I did as you told but it just crashed again.

XBMC log:

http://pastebin.com/CJdakTAx

Syslog:

http://pastebin.com/4Q6sBPVx

This is just the last part. The log is too big to upload it to pastebin. Please tell me, if you need other parts.

Crashlog (?):

http://pastebin.com/QtQiCbuw

Even though I deleted the folder just yesterday the folder is full of files called AppleTV_1970-01-01... This is the last one.

This is the file called log-aggregated-2011-11-20-000000_Apple*TV.plist in /private/var/mobile/Library/Logs/CrashReporter

Just in case, this is what my hosts file looks like:

Code:
##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting.  Do not change

this entry.
##
127.0.0.1    localhost
255.255.255.255    broadcasthost
::1             localhost
fe80::1%lo0

localhost

127.mesu.apple.com127.0.0.1 0.0.1    appldnld.apple.com
127.0.0.1 mesu.apple.com
127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net

Changed that after reading this thread:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=115110

It now looks like this:

Code:
##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1    localhost
255.255.255.255    broadcasthost
::1             localhost
fe80::1%lo0    localhost
127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com
127.0.0.1 mesu.apple.com
127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net

::1 localhost
fe80::1%lo0 localhost

those look odd.

an deinstall exposed (vnc server) it eats ram for breakfast ...

It doesn't look like update anymore ... at least imho. Do you have some more unusal apps installed via nitotv?

Nothing installed besides xbmc and updatebegone. I do have the xbmc-loader installed (directly booting into xbmc from org.tomcool.xbmc-booter).

I think xbmc crashes more often when using the last.fm-playlist generator script from here

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=83915

How do uninstall exposed (vnc server)? I didn't install that by purpose. How could that have happened?

Is there any more information I could provide you with?
