Half of external HDD partition not showing
#1
Question
After a few weeks I've trying, I've got XBMC to connect to my mac through Zeroconfig. Connected to my MacBook Pro i have a 1TB seagate hard drive which is portioned into two sections.
- First Partition: 200gb for Backup. Mac OS extended format
- Second Partition: 800gb for Media. FAT32 format.

When i connect to my Mac through Zeroconfig it only shows the BACKUP partition and not the MEDIA partition and was wondering if there is a reason for this?

I would assume that it is something to do with the partition or what not but I've included as much information as i can ? hope this is solvable ? Smile

Mac Specs - 10.7.2 Lion MacBook Pro connected to Seagate 1TB external HDD through USB2.0

Apple TV2 specs- Darwin 11.0.0 Darwin Kernel Version 11.0.0
XBMC 11.0-BETA1 Git:20111222-22ad84 (compiled Dec24th)

Did you already try afp or nfs instead of webdav?

Ive been trying to look for a way to se that up but I'm a bit new to this all and don't know what username and password etc i need.
Any idiots step by step guides or you could type one up quickly?

afp://user[:password@ (wiki)server[/share[/path[/file]]]] .

i understand this is the path for AFP, but what username, password, server etc do i use to connect to an external HDD. Any help greatly appreciated ... sorry for the undoubtedly silly questions :o

After a bit of hunting around, i think that User is the username i use on my macbook, password the same as my mac, server would be the macs IP, but still can't figure out what Share, path etc are ?

I finally worked out how to input the afp directory correctly but when i i try to get into my media external HDD it doesn't take me there it takes me to all of the other shared areas selected on my MacBook Pro making me think that for someone it cannot see my MEDIA partition (FAT32)

Any ideas for this ?
