Hi, I've tried playing .eyetv recordings through XBMC (Eden 2) from a Lion iMac, and the .mpg file (inside the .eyetv envelope) is played back extremely choppy and slow. Connection is Ethernet, not WiFi.

Has anyone been able to play those? A 30 minute .mpg is 4Gb in length, FYI.

Yes, EyeTV allows export to ATV2, but it takes such a long time to transfer, and what's the point when XBMC is supposed to play those files?

XBMC cannot handle 720/1080 mpg files, or even some SD mpg files if they are interlaced.

You might be able to set EyeTV to record these files as h.264 on-the-fly.
