When I try to update to Eden using nito, I get
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
Same thing if I try to do it with ssh
I have AT2 with 4.3
Any help will be appreciated.

So did you try 'dpkg --configure -a' ?

Oh there you go with that pesky common sense logic :-)

Not wanting things to go from bad to worse, I did not attempt anything yet except to move on to updating my second ATV2 and now same thing on it. I assume the syntax is 'dpkg --configure -a' so I just tried it and get:
dpkg: error processing org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 (--configure):
Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should
reinstall it before attempting configuration.
Errors were encountered while processing:
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
then retry dpkg --configure -a and reinstall xbmc afterwards
apt-get -u dist-upgrade could also help if nitoTV is pretty old

When I did, I get the following:
Apple-TV:~ root# apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
beigelist org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock gawk bsdiff
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 6 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? y
dpkg - warning, overriding problem because --force enabled:
Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should
reinstall it before attempting a removal.
(Reading database ... 3525 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 ...
And it just stays there. I assume 10 mins is enough time for it to have finished.

That got it out but did not solve the issue. Either I'm missing some step of it's a real problem. Just very strange that it happened on both machines, one with Nito and one with ssh. What is the best course for starting over? I don't want to go to the newer iOS since it is NOT being recommended. Is there a way to totally remove ALL the XBMC stuff and start it over. The remove command is just not working.
Stuck so any help would be appreciated.

Very strange. I tried everything again and it all started working on BOTH. I was using cut/paste all along to avoid any typos so I have no idea but all working now. I had upgraded the iPad2 to the Eden and it was so much better. faster, less issues, etc. so we will see if it is better on the ATV2's.
I did notice that it did change some of the settings though. For example, it changed the date/time to Australia 24 instead of keeping it at USA 12 where I would have had it. It was real apparent since I have movies sorted by date and latest was not at the top.
Anyways, all good for now so thank y'all for your help.
