Hello, I am new to XBMC and let me start off by saying I am very impressed. The installation of XBMC and XBMC Remote for Android was easy. Now comes the tough part! Configuring the layout. As I understand, I have Confluence, which was installed by default. Mine has a horizontal button layout like so:

[Weather][Videos][Music][Programs][System]

However, what I want is this:
[Weather]
[Movies]
[TV Shows]
[Music]
[Programs]
[System]

I see in a confluence screenshot, a layout very similar to this: http://xbmc.org/wp-content/gallery/confl...hot000.jpg

I also would like it to not auto-scroll, but rather resize the menu items so they all fit on one screen. I'm not attached to the Confluence skin at all, any skin will do that matches what I am looking for!

How can I set this up the way I want? Is it also possible to add custom home menu items?

The post is from 2009, and though the download link works, I get "Addon does not have the correct structure". If anyone can help me replicate the screenshot given in that post, I would be grateful!

In the Add On Manager, go to skins and look for "Confluence Vertical".

Not sure on the 2009 link, however. It will most likely be for an earlier version of xbmc. So check out the add on first and see if this is what you are looking for.
