Linux Shutdown problem (xbmc is running as root)
#1
Hello,

I have problem with shutting down PC from XBMC. Before continue, I'd like to note, that before asking I've spent quite some time to find out why and I've seen a lot of posts regarding this, but still can't fing the reason. The problem is that xbmc just exits to xorg without shutting down PC (yes, I know that you can specify what to do for this function in settings and I even tried to put the XBMC.Powerdown in the keyboard.xml file). Additional details:
- the problem appears only in the latest version (compiled from svn), in xbmc 11 powerdown function has been working properly
- xbmc runs as root, no display manager: /usr/bin/xbmc --standalone -fs

I'd appreciate any help/tips.

Thanks in advance,
Vlad.

P.S. I've tried to put SystemExec("poweroff") to keyboard.xml as well, but in this case xbmc goes to window mode and nothing elase happens....
P.P.S. As I mentioned already, I've seen a lot of posts regarding this poweroff problem and just wondering why there's so many? Is it so complicated to send poweroff command?
