I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that I'm testing a range of overclocks (some considered extremely safe, even though my system is stable to 1000/500/500) to investigate a separate issue on the RPF forum, and I'd already established this issue wasn't related to overclocking as it occurs with or without overclocks (which is why I posted details of my config.txt sans overclocks).

Yes, but surely the problem is with the first boot, before there is a guisettings.xml etc.? After that the next boot is just going to use whatever setting is in guisettings.xml?

Here's the xbmc.log (pastebin) after enabling debug logging and then rebooting.

Yes.
