3D Half SBS, just outputs a normal sized image, width the left eye's image on the left and the right eye's image on the right.
The 3D-SBS mode signalling is just an out of band packet saying switch to 3D-SBS mode. It should make no difference if we send this, or if you manually press 3D button on TV.
You seem to be seeing a correct 3D-SBS image (i.e. left eye on left, right eye on right). You say your TV knows it is in 3D mode, which should make it combine these two images.
Can you manually enable/disable 3D mode on the TV? What effect does it have on the picture?
Suppose you disable "Sync display to video" in xbmc settings, then play the 3D video. Then manually turn on 3D. Does that work?
