Maybe this will work: Try creating a plain text file with this text content:

Code:
http://mp3lg.tdf-cdn.com/radioorient/all/radioorient.mp3

save it as "radioorient.srtm" to a path available to XBMC and open it.

Thanks pko66! I've saved the file, and put it in the var dir, but it's not being detected (i don't see it in there when I navigate to var dir. Please advise what dir or folder should I save it to, so it's recognized and selectable? THX

the extension should be .strm

Yes. That exactly the extension I have, but where does the file go on the ATV? When I browse the ATV, I can only see 2 folders Home folder, and Music Playlists/ under when I move the file to home dir or sub dir, I can't see/find it. I've thought of putting in the Music Playlists folder, but I can't seem to find that folder to put the file into!!! THX

in music filemode, use the 'add source' option to add the folder containing your playlists.

Guys, I don't have any playlists. all I have is a file named abcdef.strm. and before adding it as source, I would need to move it into the avt2, and that's my problem I don't know where to put it (using winscp) so that it's visible....when you say i have to be in file mode... do you mean in the main xbmc window, go to music, then file...then add source...etc...correct? I have not even gotten there...I just need to put the file (not playlist, as I don't have one or even know how to create it), somewhere in the var/mobile.... do I need to install something so that my ATV2 recognizes .strm files? can you please advise...THX

A few issues... using notepad, and saving the above will get you "radioorient.srtm.txt" instead of "radioorient.srtm" with the proper extension... using notepad++ or renaming the file after you have created it... Using the above address didn't prove successful for some reason... but this does.. http://95.81.146.2/radioorient/all/radioorient.mp3 throw it in a folder XBMC file mode can see it... call it "radioorient.srtm" and click on it,

It should play.... works for me. Creating a button on the front page is a matter of saving it as a favourite, (check to see it still plays find) then using whatever skin tools you have to link it to a front or custom button. Have a look at the add-on Live Streams, it will give you a nice custom interface for all these .strms
