Hey,
I'm currently running Frodo RC3 on my Windows 8 machine.
It's an i5 running off an SSD.

I am finding the exit speed very slow for XBMC. Taking up to 15 seconds sometimes to exit. I remember it at one stage never taking this long, and this before my current rig.

If I open the Task Manager, XBMC shows as 'not responding' when exiting.

Any ideas?

Try latest nightly version if that's better
