Linux XBMCbuntu - No Sound on compatible hardware
#1
Hello Guys,

I have a sound Problem with my new HTPC. I bought an ARCTIC MC001-N and use XBMCbuntu 11.10 with a USB Flash Drive. I tried also xbmc 12 but changed to 11.10 because low frames with 1080p files.

My Problem is I dont get any sound working. I need sound output over HDMI ( HD 5430) . I tryed mp3's, mkv's, avi's - it doesnt matter I get always " Failed to initialize Audio - Please check Audio Settings".

My Hardware:

CPU Dual Core Intel Atom D525 (1.8GHz)
Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430, 512MB GDDR3
Chipset Intel NM10
Memory 4GB DDR3 1066

My Settings:

Audio Output: HDMI
Speakers: 5.1

Output Device: I tryed them all:

Standard (ALSA)
iec958 (ALSA)
hdmi (ALSA)
HDA-Intel-default-0 (ALSA)
HDA-Intel-ie958-0 (ALSA)
HDA-Intel-hdmi-0 (ALSA)
HDA-Intel-default-1 (ALSA)
HDA-Intel-iec958-1 (ALSA)
HDA-Intel-hdmi-1 (ALSA)
HD-Audio Generic default 3 (ALSA)
HDA Audio Generic iec958 3 (ALSA)
HD Audio Generic hdmi 3 (ALSA)

My aplay -l Output in the Terminal:

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****

card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC892 Analog [ALC892 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC892 Digital [ALC892 Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

card 1: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

So I Tryed also custom Output Device with: "hw:1,3" - No Sound.

I hope anyone can help
