I am running xbmx on Windows 8 x64. I have set the audio option to "HDMI" but am still getting audio only out of the sound card.

Just FYI, I am going back and forth between XBMC and Media Portal trying to decide. I do get audio out on HDMI in MP. So I must be missing some setting somewhere, but can't find where.

Audio Output at the top only specifies what audio options are available, for where audio is actually sent then configure the bottom 2 options Audio Output Device ( for audio XBMC decodes itself) and Passthrough Output Device ( bitstreaming for decoding externally e.g. AVR) above Play GUI Sounds.
