^^
You can't "mix" it.
You have to replace the complete /system partition, (like Cyanogenmod does)
And it *might be necessary* to modify some files in "boot.img" and the bootloader (but not 100% sure, (needs to be checked (Tongue)), since I've stopped development a few months ago, until Archos releases a SDK 3.2 firmware)
But it can be done!

I expect there to be betas etc so might help out if I can. Maybe 12.2 ouya is available and stable earlier as it is focused on a single android device. Can't state enough how much I appreciate all te work.
The Ouya version of 12.2 (12.3 actually) will be unsupported here, as it will not be an official version.
Expect it in the ouya store in the next couple of weeks.

As for using it on other device, as Ned said, the specifics shouldn't prevent to do so. The apk self probably won't be readily available, though (unless Ouya decides to do so, which I doubt).
The sources will be available on Ouya's github, though, which will allow anyone to build it.
Hows the ouya app coming along? thought id ask since its past a couple weeks.
does anyone play 720p/1080p with H/W acc on nexus 7 and SS Galaxy Note?? which ver. i can use with it?? it to many ver. i don't know to choose. I use the latest 18/8 but it's not working on Galaxy Note.
I got DTS and DD51 working with the native XBMC player (including HW Acceleration) on android 4.2.2 with the Minix X5 using the following patch.

All credits go to stafstrom for the work and effort. Maybe XBMC developers can use his patch in the development process?

Not sure, since I'm not a dev myself, but I'll pass along the link to our devs. Thanks!
I guess it wont be excepted. Cause the android version is also meant to use on phones. I am not sure if someone wants to call and run xbmc on its phone at the same time but that's impossible with the patch.
Well, there is also the little detail of patching an android system library Smile

I noticed it today under apps in the discover section, haven't installed it though
I experience shaky, jumpy and every 10 seconds, garbled video playback if I play a certain stream on XBMC.
Playing the stream through the website works perfect, as I assume it's not using hardware acceleration playback.
It happens with Android libstagefright and also with Hardware acceleration enabled on Windows XBMC.
If I turn off hardware acceleration on both Android or Windows device, video playback is perfect, it only happens with this stream and other HD material plays fine with hardware acceleration turned on.

Here is a picture with codec info and garbled video.

If someone requires the stream to test, I can PM it, since it's an unofficial XBMC plugin.

Looks like bad encoding on the site side to me.
Our software decoder is much more forgiving that the hardware ones.
Product: Archos TV Connect
Chipset: TI OMAP 4470
Android: v4.1.1
XBMC: Gotham Alpha 1

All audio is out of sync no matter what tried playing multiple files (log below is of just one), H.264, WebM & MPEG-2 video playback is quite good despite the lag, MPEG-4 ASP not so much.

Which is currently recommended to use:

http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/android/
or
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/android/

Seem to have different builds.
Use nightlies.
Every nightly onwards now has libstagefright in them? I've read it some were I think but I can't seem to find were I thought I read that lol
Yep, since Aug 1st.
