Launching XBMC from desktop using Logitech Harmony remote
#1
I've been trying to work this out but haven't had much success.

I want to program my Logitech Harmony 650 to launch XBMC from the window's desktop when I press the blue button. At the moment when I'm at the desktop I have to use a mouse or a keyboard and I'm trying to make it so that the remote does pretty much everything for everyday use.

I've set up the shortcut so that Ctrl+Alt+x opens XBMC... How can I program this to the blue button...

Or am I approaching this the wrong way?

Cheers,

On windows I've been using a MCE remote which seems to have some hardcoded function to always run the windows media centre executable. What worked for me was a small file another person created that sat at the windows media centre location and then just started XBMC instead. Not sure if you have anything you can hook into similar to this?

Does the remote come with any software that lets you configure what the buttons do?

If you are using RC6 compatible IR receiver then use the mce mapper tool in my signature and change the green button to your preferred combination.
