It does this for me too. It's not a bug, but just depends on processing power I beleive.
On my windows machine or android box it acts as you describe.
On my high powered HTPC, I hardly notice it at all.

Extended script version 2.0.2 is available now in official repo, because this kodi update previous release, if you receive new screen, it´s caused by this new script (skin don´t have support at this moment).
One tip, use the previous version script in gotham, but change version number script for 2.4 or 2.5 for example.
