When playing HD MKV files I get unwatchable stuttering/lag. This is the same on 2 different computers with Intel HD4000 GFX chip (don't know if the chip is the problem)

Specs:

I7-3770K
16 GB DDR3 RAM

I have no problems using Mediaplayer Classic

That is often caused by the audio.

If the MKV files have HD Audio in them and you are attempting to play them with XBMC set to use the DirectShow filter instead of WASAPI, or you are attempting to bitstream those HD Audio streams to hardware that cannot support it, you will see that kind of stuttering.
