Very strange issue, once I have played three video files (avi, mkv or stream) the next file I try to play will look like its about to work but the video doesn't play. I can hear the audio (stutters), but the screen stays the same. The only way I can play a file again is to reboot.

I have just done a apt-get update and upgrade, but the problem is still there.

I have an Acer Revo with iON chipset. Other than this problem its been a fantastic little servant.

Any ideas?

I have had a similar sounding problem. For awhile I could only play one avi per boot. In the end I found out my video drivers had been the problem. I reinstalled them and it started working fine again.
