I'm new to developing Kodi add-ons, but if it works then I'll look into adding it into the official Kodi repository (if that's even possible).
I agree it is unfortunate having to go via Google. I don't know if Subscene has rolled back their changes but they will most likely implement them again in the future if they experience a too heavy load. An alternative to using Subscenes search method will be probably be needed.
It'd be great to have the add-on back in the official repository. I've been meaning to but haven't had the time.
Yeah, I didn't want to fork it since it took a completely different approach. You're right that subscene might re-add blocking/captcha in the future and then a different approach might be needed. However, it works for now and that makes me happy
