Dialog volume very low
#1
I have connected XBMC and mi TV,an "old" Sony LCDan "old" Sony LCD, with a HDMI cable. I think the TV has 2.0 Stereo Speakers, because when a film is playing with AC3 5.1 or DTS sound, the Dialog volume is very low regarding effect sounds.

Is possible to configure XBMC to "force" it to take out stereo sound?

Thank you! Blush

If downmix is the problem, so 5.1 channels being downmixed to 2.0 stereo, then try the following:

Audio Output Device: Analog (so XBMC decodes everything)
Speaker configuration: 2.0
Boost volume on downmix: enabled

Then play a video with 5.1 and bring up the OSD and select the Audio option, here you should see "Volume amplification", try increasing this and you should notice dialog volume is increased, once you think balance is right use the "Volume" to change overall volume it may become too loud, the select "Set as default for all videos".

You may also want to try a Gotham nightly build as downmix should be much better by default on Gotham.
