hi there!

updated my ubuntu to 14.04 today, sadly now my xbmc is not behaving.
crashes on start of videos, but some just work fine.

Have you tried the latest beta release? It should fix some problems related to VDPAU, which seem to be the cause of your crashes.

That is a known bug in in our 13.0 version as negge points out. 13.1-rc1 should fix that.

Though(!) you also run a Mesa version that will segfault when you press stop, basically you are affected by that one here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sourc...ug/1306897
If you run into that after upgrading xbmc look at comment #8
