[Ubuntu/Mint]: dual head detects only one display
#1
Under Ubuntu/Unity and Mint/Cinnamon XBMC only detects one monitor in a dual head setup. It may happen that it spawns in the middle of the monitors depending on the screen resolution.

There's a widely used work-around based on wmctrl out there similar to this one: https://github.com/kimse1/xbmc-fullscreen-dual-monitor

It should be fixed in xbmc itself though.

Get a fernetmenta build - they do proper multi-monitor support. PPA https://launchpad.net/~aap/+archive/xbmc...ernetmenta

Ahh, that's nice! Thanks's a lot!

One more question black_eagle. Is this based on 13.1 Gotham?

It's apparently forked from opdenkamp. What is that all about?

Yeah, that PPA is 13.1 Gotham for precise, saucy and trusty. There is also https://launchpad.net/~aap/+archive/xbmc-fernetmenta which is 14.0 Wink

No idea !! I just know that on my dualhead system, those builds are the only ones that work correctly!

That's so great! I've struggled with that so long! Cool man. Cloning right now from github. I'll report back.

Cloning takes long time.. Why "Learning Linux the hard way !!"?

Compiled with http://slexy.org/view/s211W2BE8A

In "System > Video Output > Monitor" I got now HDMI-0 (my TV) , DVI-D-0 (my workstation monitor) and default.

Awesome! http://imgur.com/77k4wM4,gEj0Vqg
Thanks again!

It's just a small step in our project here: https://github.com/ProfessorKaos64/RetroRig
The emulators have the same problem...

Forgot to mention the build environment: http://slexy.org/view/s20TNzoxqk
