I am wondering if anyone got an Android media player based Rockchip RK3288 SoC and how your experience with it so far?
Many different Android media player boxes and sticks powered by it have been announced but only a few released to date.
For those who haven't read up on the RK3288 yet it is Rockchip's new flagship SoC, featuring Quad-Core Cortex-A17 series CPU running at up to 1.8GHz and ARM Mali-T764 GPU.
Other than have very powerful 3D graphics GPU and CPU for a cheap ARM SoC the most interesting thing about RK3288 from XBMC and media playback functionality point of view is that it features latest VPU hardware video decoding for 4K2K (4Kx2K/3840X2160) 8-bit H.264 and 10-bit H.265 / HEVC, and 1080p MVC (Multiview Video Coding) videos decode, and the SoC can support HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.X output at 4K Ultra HD (3840X2160) resolution at 60 fps but not all manufacturers will choose to go with a HDMI 2.0 port yet.

- Kingnovel R6
- Kingnoval K-R68
- Beelink R28
- Ugoos UT3
- Ugoos UM3
- Rikomagic MK902 II
- Measy B4S
- MINIX NEO X9 (rumor only)

- No brand GK388
Once readily available and the firmware have matures a little I suspect that RK3288 based devices will be the go-to SoC for most XBMC enthusiasts because of its price verses performance ratio.
