ServerWMC 1171 most channels are now DRM'ed
#1
Hi there, I've applied the latest ServerWMC (1171) and have found some of my previously fully working channels went missing.
After some digging I found that there was an option called "Hide DRM Channels, which at least made the channels visible.
However I'm still unable to view these channels. Have tried recording on the channels from WMC, and that is viewable fine.

Looking at the log (and Im only guessing) the drm: null space may have somethign to do with it?

Thanks and keep up the great work.

Sorry about that.

Lucky for us, scarecrow saw the bug and has pushed a fix. If I send you a link to a test build can you try it out?

For anyone else experiencing this issue, you can roll back to build 1167 until we release a fix.

All examples ive seen so far (including my own 2 setups!) are Australian free to air users.

Hi all,

When I installed 1171 the other night, the majority of my Australian FTA channels were coming up as having DRM, and of course, unwatchable in XBMC/Kodi.

1167 is fine channel wise, but doesn't like coming out of sleep if a stream was running when the PC went to sleep. All tuners become disabled before having to restart ServerWMC.

Is there anyway to...

a) Disable DRM checking?
and
b) Kill active streams before the PC goes to sleep?

Thanks, great work on ServerWMC. Loving XBMC with Live TV... Good riddance WMC I say...

EDIT: Oops.. Thats what I get for taking 6 hours to actually write my post.. Just noticed another newish thread on this.

Hi guys,

Now that I've actually seen this post, I'm happy to do some testing if you need any more testers. My HTPC's in the middle of a rebuild at the moment, so breaking it's not an issue, it's already broken.

I merged your thread with this one. We will do another release in the next day or 2 to fixup the null tuning space issue on channels (particularly affecting our Aussie FTA it seems).

In terms of your sleep issues, im not sure if anything in 1171 would make any change to this... I dont sleep my backend it just runs 24/7y so I cant be much help. But i thought we had a feature that was supposed to prevent the backend going to sleep if streams were active, is that not working for you?

Thanks scarecrow420, krustyreturns

I will give the test build a crack tonight when I get home.

scarecrow420, I run ServerWMC on my HTPC (for now - no more PCI-e slots in my server at the moment) and I like to be able to put it to sleep of a night (i'm being blamed for the glaciers in New Zealand melting as it is)

No real big deal, I can just stop Live TV before putting it to sleep, will just have to train the wife (okay, after actually thinking about that, maybe training the wife is a big deal.. haha.. Nah, just kidding).

Cheers guys, will report back on 1172 a little later.

Yeah can be hard to train them Smile I programmed my harmony remote to send a stop command as part of the "turn off" sequence so something like that might be an option. But we can also take it on notice to look at "going to sleep" issues. There are easy enough ways for us to be told when the PC is going to sleep but I would have to look into whether we are able to block it from happening while we attempt to shutdown streams etc

Okay, fired it up, all looks good, all my channels are back and importing channels indicates DRM: 0

Nice work.

I have just got myself a Harmony 650, that's a good option. Would be a nicety to be able to just put it to sleep, but certainly not a necessity.

Thanks again

Yep it appears to be working, however the channels still appear with the DRM suffix.
Logs attached http://pastebin.com/ZhTqYvyE

Tried turning on and off the "hide drm flags" and it didnt seem to make a difference.

Great job on the quick turn around though guys, seriously well done. Will be donating after seeing this effort Smile

Mine didn't show any DRM flags.

Maybe try resetting PVR Database, and then re-enabling pvr.wmc

yeah alex i think your setup is suffering from XBMC now having cached those "-drm" named channels in it's database. Your ServerWMC log confirms it no longer sees any "strange null space" channels. Reset PVR and EPG database in XBMC as Drexyl says, then everything should be looking good on XBMC again
