Yup, exactly what I thought, and that's the problem.

You have installed the skin downloading the zip from Github.

You need the official install to fix this. Install using Kodi's repo from inside Kodi - or install from zip downloading this zip file: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/addons/helix/ski...-7.2.0.zip

That should definately fix the issues with the streched icons in the home screen.
