If it is a bug in Kodi then maybe using custom library nodes is the right way to go but until I have more time to figure it out I have added additional views to pick from on Git. Please read the FAQ on the first page before attempting to install the Git version of the skin.
I am 70 years old and it is not easy for me to write in english.
it is also not easy to understand all the things with Kodi and database.
I appreciate things I understand.
Now it has worked with the pictures ....I have FireTv, sorry no key CTRL, but I have make a photo from my TV
Here are the views of the playlist, I have so separated albums, compilations and singles and audiobooks
My songs of music are all tagged and I have music added and added to the library. then did music playlists with rules, sorted by album Interpret etc.
Here Kodi 15.2 with Silvo for Isengard 5.7.4- all right !!
Here are the views of a playlist, as you can see, here is a lot of views
And here Kodi 16.0 with Silvo Jarvis 5.8.4
Here are views only 2 List and Symbols
And this is the same view of playlist in Silvo with Kodi 16
You said that music> files can go, but you can not.
Here are just 2 views.
I also tried in other skins, this make but many views in a playlist, the Aeon Nox and Silvo version 5.8.4 and no longer just the two views.
So, there is a feature in Nox and Silvo, not a problem in Kodi 16

edit: did you read in the skin helper service thread about the gif (Animated Poster) function?
I think it sounds good!!
I did read it but gif support is not something I use so it is likely I wouldn't look into it for awhile.
