@mikesilvo164
First off, i would like to say thanks for a great skin. I was a longtime user of Aeon Nox by Phil and then ShedNox and now MadNox on all my HTPCs but the only one that comes close to those in eye candy and functionality for low end machines is this skin.
I have it installed on all my Android Boxes as well as my mom's, my dad's, my brother's, 5 cousins', and countless friends.
I certainly am not a n00b (been using XBMC since it was XBMP on the Xbox) and i can assure you that several of the boxes never saw the warning message.
I also just tested it by loading a a box with one of my backups and only thing that happened was the screen going black for 15-20 seconds and then the main menu being completely blank.
I could navigate left and right and knew where i was because of the background changing but nothing was selectable.
Rebooting the box and going back into Kodi brought a vertical menu with no textures. The backgrounds were still there and the textures were not so the warning message was not legible and i couldn't figure out which one of the OK or Cancel was selected. So i pressed "S" to bring up the menu and counted the necessary key presses needed to get to the settings. Once there i made my way to Appearance, Selected the skin and switched to Confulence.
I then went to the add-ons, selected Aeon Nox: Silvo, clicked update and chose the latest version again.
Once the download was finished, i switched to Aeon Nox: Silvo, went to the menu setup and all my stuff was there. Since i only use Super Favorites shortcuts for the widgets on the low end boxes, i doubt i need to reset the menu.
Went back to the main menu and widgets work fine.
Now for my family and friends, i fixed their problem by updating the skin for them manually outside of Kodi.
I just overwrote the skin's directory with the new version and when open Kodi after that, THEN you see the message properly and can choose to do what you will.
I have noticed that when the skin in use needs to be updated, your best bet is to switch to Confluence and do it from there. Once it is properly updated, switch back to it.
I am guessing that when you did your tests, you were updating the skin manually and that is why it always worked properly...
In any case, hope this helps some of you...if it did, you know what to press
