(2016-11-08, 02:16)avika Wrote: hello. i have searched high and low for a solution to an issue i'm having with Silvo skin for Jarvis 16.1.
I am unable to utilize the Manage Submenu function because the Skin Shortcuts control seems to be missing.
It's the one that has options for TYPE/ADD/DELETE/MOVE UP/MOVE DOWN, etc.
Instead, I get a screen that says CHOOSE ITEM FOR MENU with options that include COMMON/VIDEO LIBRARY/MUSIC LIBRARY, etc.
I downloaded from three different sources and all are the same, even after completely deleting kodi and starting anew.
I went so far as to replace the script in userdata/addon_data/script.skinshourtcuts - to no avail.
Please let me know if you can help. Thank you so much.
I've not come across this issue before, and it's more likely to be a skin issue than a Skin Shortcuts script one.
But let's rule out a bad version of Skin Shortcuts, as you say you've tried three different ones - the only one you should be using is the one on the official Kodi repo (unless your friendly skinner tells you to use the git version - which they'll only do if they know it contains a specific fix or if they're using new features of the script that aren't in the repo version yet). It's worth being aware that whilst you might find different versions out there, unless you know where to look and what to look for it's easy to install old versions, untested development versions or even versions which have been brutally (and, based on the last time I saw one try it, atrociously) modified by people who just don't know what they're doing. And you need to be careful about how you install them as it's easy to get into a situation where you end up with multiple versions installed which can interfere with each other.
The first thing to do, then, is to check you only have one version installed. You need to find the 'addons' directory, which is one directory 'up' from the userdata (wiki) folder. Make sure you have a single 'script.skinshortcuts' folder within. If you have any folders named, for example 'script.skinshortcuts-master', delete them. (Accepting of course that if you don't have a 'script.skinshortcuts' folder, remove the '-master' element from the other folder so that you do.)
Next is to make sure it's the repo version you have installed. Restart Kodi and, on Jarvis, head to 'Settings' / 'System' > 'Add-ons' / 'Add-on Browser' > 'System' > 'Dependencies' and select 'Skin Shortcuts'. Click 'Update' and choose the version marked 'Kodi Add-On Repository' (Version 1.0.10) to get back to the official repo version.
If your issue still exists then I would next suggest re-installing Nox 5 Silvo. Again, please make sure first that you only have a single 'skin.aeon.nox.5.silvo' folder in your addons folder.
If the issue still persists after that post back and I'll talk you through getting a debug log with the needed info from the Skin Shortcuts script to confirm if it is a script issue. It would be appreciated if you could include a screenshot of the issue if you do post back.
