This is and has since its inception been the best skin ever made for Kodi. Also thank you to BigNoid and Mr.V as well as any of the other developers that have helped build this marvel and those that have provided so much support through these fourms.
Updating my old setup with Krypton Nightly and the Git version of Aeon Nox Silvo. My question is in regards to adding skin shortcuts from an addon sub menu to either the main or sub menu of the skin.
When adding a location through "Choose item for menu" or "Change action" the command ends up looking like this:
ActivateWindow(Videos,"plugin://plugin.video.#####/?action=#####",return)
The problem with this is when exiting out of this section it will require multiple presses of the back key to move back up through the hierarchy of the addon . I've seen examples of setups where this has been overcome and the command looks something like this:
ActivateWindow(VideoLibrary,"plugin://plugin.video.#####/?action=#####&url=#####",return)
I see from the windows IDs wiki that the VideoLibrary ID has been removed in Krypton. I've tried using favorites as well as super favorites (Please come back Spoyser your also a master of this Kodi universe) Can anyone tell me how to create a shortcut from an addon sub menu that acts as a hard link so that a press of the back button exits straight back to the home menu? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The command is correctly formatted to do what you want - the ',return' element tells Kodi that if you press 'Back' from that level it should take you back to the home screen (accepting, of course, that if you navigate deeper within the plugin pressing back will take you 'up' a level until you reach the level you entered at). As you've not mentioned which plugin you're using I can't test to see if it has any particular issues so if this doesn't work with that plugin I would suggest posting in the thread for that script.
BobCratchett thanks for the response. I have this issue with every add-on I try. A couple of examples of shortcuts I have on my sub menu are below. Any Guidance or suggestions you may have would be great. I feel I must be missing a script or maybe I need to manually edit the command.
Crackler where a link is made to the TV sub folder with the the following command
ActivateWindow(Videos,"plugin://plugin.video.crackler/?mode=tv_folder&foldername=TV",return)
Vimeo where a link is made to the featured section
ActivateWindow(Videos,"plugin://plugin.video.vimeo/featured/",return)
DailyMotion with a link to the tech subfolder
ActivateWindow(Videos,"plugin://plugin.video.dailymotion_com/?url=channel%3Atech&mode=sortVideos1",return)
Youtube with a link to the MySubscriptions section
ActivateWindow(Videos,"plugin://plugin.video.youtube/special/new_uploaded_videos_tv/",return)
It doesn't seem to be add-on specific. Seems to be a problem with every one I try where I'm not getting the expected result of jumping back to the home menu without moving back out through the levels of the add-on.
