Release Aeon Nox: SiLVO
Maybe I missed something, ever since I started using this skin I could use the path substitution in advancedsettings.xml to access the same favourites.xml file from all my installs. I just noticed today this is no longer working??

Code:
<substitute>
    <from>special://profile/favourites.xml</from>
    <to>smb://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/Public/Software/XBMC DATA/favourites.xml</to>
  </substitute>

Wondering if it's a skin thing or a Kodi SMB issue.....

EDIT It's fixed...bad favourites.xml file! Don't know how that happened. Gremlins I guess Wink

The other way around this issue does not exist.
What version of script.tv.show.next.aired do you have installed?

Version 7.0.0

That version is from marcelveldt and his beta repo. He is reworking and updating that script.

You can report the issue to him in his skin.helper thread or downgrade to the Kodi repo one, it is v6.0.15 currently.

Hi Mike,

using your skin for a long time now but I never got my custom video genre backgrounds working.
I just defined the path in the skin settings and made sure all files are the correct format.
I always get the default artwork shown when browsing the genres view.

Another problem I have is when browsing my movie sets using the open case mod.
When opening the first collection everything is shown correctly.
But when opening a second one which has viewer discs than the one opened before it always shows the discs from the first collection aswell.

Anything I can do here?
  • unRAID server
  • EmbyServer docker container
  • LibreELEC virtual machine
  • Kodi (Aeon Nox SiLVO)

Its possible. You just need to edit the xml to do so.

Genre backgrounds work fine for me. Single folder with images labeled exactly like your genres i.e. Action.jpg. Some systems are case sensitive.

For movie sets you need an updated version of skin.info.service. Krypton compatible is on my repo v1.0.1 and Leia compatible is v1.0.2 and is here. Don't forget to remove the -master from the end of the folder name. It is basically the same instructions given for installing the GitHub version of the skin in the FAQ.

Firstly thanks for a great skin.

I have tried the various views and my favourite is the Shift view, particularly the small version. However its also the only view I seem to have a small problem.

I have a movie section which is in the library and automatically scrapes the posters and fanart so it works perfectly.

I also have a video section which I have not scanned into the library as it has many home videos. There are multiple folders in the video section and there may be several videos in each folder. I manually add a poster and fanart jpg for each folder. With the other skin views, it shows up perfectly. However with the Shift view, there may be missing "folder" pictures as I scroll along. When I come to the folder, the "folder" pictures come up and then disappear again when I scroll past. It appears to be random and not related to the size of the jpg. Also when I click on it, it enters the folder and shows the videos accurately. However when I exit, it just shows that single folder picture but if I scroll along it will show the other folder pictures again.

I have deleted the textures.db file with no change.

Thanks again.

Hey mikeSiLVO I've been using your skin since a few years (?) already, so thank for that.

However, I stumbled upon an issue I can't solve myself. Maybe because can't come up with proper search term for it, so sorry if this is something obvious or easily searchable.
The issue: I'm using the "Recommended Episodes" Panel Widget (from Library Data Provider I guess?). Other widgets (and previously, this) will update after the database information changes. Most importantly, after an episode was finished and hence is marked as watched. In my current setup, this isn't happening.
Any pointers for me?

I do not recommend deleting your textures13.db file. If it happens randomly then it is hard to determine the cause but if you have home videos and you would like to add them to your library, I do suggest checking out the Custom video entries (wiki).

That widget refreshes whenever the skin helper widgetreload-episode reload property is supposed to update. That should happen whenever this is met "will change if episodes content is added/changed in the library or after playback stop of episodes content (in- or outside of library)". If that doesn't happen then can you try removing the "$INFO[Window.Property(widgetreload-episodes)]"

from the end of

"plugin://service.library.data.provider?type=randomepisodes&reload=$INFO[Window.Property(widgetreload-episodes)]"

in the overrides.xml file in the skins shortcuts folder on line ~81 to see if library.data.provider handles that on its own and me adding it makes it not work any longer or I will need a debug log (wiki), version of skin.helper.widgets installed, and a confirmation from you that your system does not have any banned addons (wiki) installed before posting any of that Wink.

Thanks Mike. Reading the link you provided talks mainly of giving individual videos a poster. I am interested in giving the folder a poster. It works well for all the other views, but the shift view seems to lose the poster for random folders unless selected.

I use android device so not sure if that is the problem.

Just an update. Managed to sort it out. My fault as I had named them poster rather than folder. For some reason it worked for other views but not for shift. Have renamed them folders now and all working.

Great skin.

I am currently using the skin under Krypton (LibreELEC) 8.0.2 but I can't seem to get the TVShow - Next Aired to display as Widget #1 or #2. I am currently using script.skin.helper.service v1.1.22 and script.skin.helper.widgets v1.0.33 but no luck with it. I have tried Marcelveldt's versions but still nothing seems to make a difference. Is there something I am missing?

Thanks,

Shedrock

thanks a lot for your effort.

I started to implement your suggestion and afterwards I was ready to post and already typing. I checked the skin.helper.widgets version as the last thing. At that point, I noticed that the widget I'm using is based on the service.library.data.provider. But since you specifically commented about the service.library.data.provider line, I guess it's still supposed to work with both. Anyway, I also tested with the skin.helper.widgets plugin, see below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
service.library.data.provider:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried to modify the file. I actually modified all three lines relating to episodes and just to be sure, I rebooted afterwards.
Since I wasn't sure if I was supposed to leave the empty "result=" or not, I tested both versions (eg completely removing "result=" vs not).

However, I wasn't lucky.
I'm not sure if you actually want to go trough the effort of debugging this or if I just should restart with a clean install first.
Anyway, I can happily confirm that I do not have any shady addons (see addons folder content at the end).
I uploaded the log here: https://pastebin.com/b3ixL3c4
service.library.data.provider version 0.3.0.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
skin.helper.widgets:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After noticing it wasn't installed, I installed it (in v1.0.22 although that most probably is not relevant) and tested the results.
This widget will update correctly and immediately, so works as designed.
However, with that widget a new problem surfaces: It is using season posters for the episodes. Maybe this is the quicker path to go?

Hi Shedrock Smile
On my Krypton test install that Widget seems to be working fine on my end. It does take awhile to load sometimes though.

Skin v6.0.9
skin.helper.service v1.1.3 (maybe try updating to latest version in Kodi repoHuh)
skin.helper.widgets v1.0.22 (maybe downgrade to Kodi repo version Huh)
tv.show.next.aired v6.0.15

Do you see any errors in your log file?

Ok I am lost here so lets have you reinstall the skin and install skin.helper.widgets then resetup your widget. I will have to either make skin.helper.widgets a dependency or hide all widgets that use its reload property.

Didn't think of this when adding that to the widgets.

Thanks for reporting the issue.
