Since a few weeks I have Kodi with Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO skin hanging at the start of Kodi. This happens sometimes and not always. The easiest way to fix it for now is to force Kodi to close and start it again.

When this happens I see in in the Info line Kodi is busy. Normally this ends up with the weather information displaying at the Info line and has Kodi loaded all necessary items. When Kodi hangs the busy part keeps saying busy and that stays that way. I can watch series and movies but that's about it. all other things will not open and probably because it didn't load at the start of Kodi?

I did a full clean install of Kodi wikt Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO but it did not help although it seems to happen less often.

Am I the only one having this issue and what can be the cause of this?

HI Guys, I've created my own skin using Aeon Box Silvo - I currently have it installed on my PC and Android TV box....and all working great.

Can anyone please advise me how I can make my build touch enabled?...ie when I install my build onto my iPad...I have no way of going back (no back button) or a way to get back to the main menu.

How do I add a back button and a home button?

If you swipe left with 2 fingers, that's how you go "back" on iPad. If you use a Bluetooth keyboard, the delete button also functions as the "back" button. Cheers!

Is it possible to add a stand alone app to the menu bar for a single click shortcut, such as we can do with kodi video addons

Should be but will need more info to help.



To help this user above if you have android you can favourite android apps and then place them on the main menu using the same process as you would a normal kodi addon, for pc or any other hardware I'm not too sure but it could be possible

You have the exact setup with menu items and widgets and all of that for the default Kodi skin?

Not sure if I counted right but it looks like you have at least 8 widgets loading. Some use online sources. That can take some time to load so perhaps wait till it does...

You also have shitty superrepo installed for jarvis, marcels beta repo using a still being worked on tv.show.next.aired, emby stuff, and whatever else the rest is...

This log does not show anything other than it is definitely not a new install with the bare minimum added to rule out your other stuff installed.

This is not how to test and debug issues. Why do you think it is a skin issue? What if it is because of emby, your repos/addons installed?

What does loading up the default skin prove?

Help me help you by eliminating possible options by testing to see what happens after installing things one at a time. Test for more than a day for each change (emby, addons, everything not required by the skin!) once the issue returns you then know where the problem lies. This is the only way to find out the cause.

Using Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO, I am trying to customize, move things around on my home page. I've had luck with moving the menu bar, its labels — along with the submenu bar and its labels—as well as the Date/Time Label. However, I am stuck on the SYSTEM BARS ( I assume that's the correct name for the horizontal bar that sits atop the main menu bar?)

I have looked in and tried many settings in Home.xml and Includes_Home.xml but for the life of me, can't find the settings for it Maybe I'm looking in the wrong xml files? If so, if anyone can tell me the the XML file and/or PNG file names and the line # of code—I will be most grateful . Thanks in advance. And needless to say, love working with this skin. So much fun!

This had been driving me crazy too...i couldnt for the life of me find where this value was. I finally stumbled upon it by searching the Includes_Home.xml and changing various <top> values

Line86 Search for HorizontalMenuSystemBars

To change that bar up or down change the default <top>424</top> value

Nox Silvo is a fantastic skin, the amount of customization is crazy. Sometimes i wish though i could change the entire homescreen menu system up and down together, instead of the 6 or 7 items that need to be changed indivually, lol

Is there a way to change the BannerWall view so that it fills the screen (instead of the borders on all sides) - on a similar note, is there a way to have the banners be "gapless" to their adjacent banners? i.e. no "bezels" or spaces between adjoining banners (much like the Movies' Fullscreen Wall view where all the posters touch and they fill the entire screen).

Additionally, I'd like to change the background graphic on the settings page from the "circuit board" (I don't know the name of the graphic file but it looks like a stylized circuit board). I've changed the default background to an image of my choosing, but cannot seem to change that one.

Finally, will this skin work for the upcoming Kodi v18 "Leia", or will you be updating this to accommodate v.18?

The space on the right is normally reserved for the next-play-widget, but i don't use that... i like surprises. :>

I want to extend the space used for album/track/file info, so they don't cut off/scroll.


Can this be done by editing MusicVisualisation.xml?
If so, what needs to be edited..?

I've got another question. Now I can successfully download logos, extrafanart etc.. but all extra fanarts that I have downloaded are not showed automatically. When i select a movie, I can only see the fanart downloaded by Kodi. I need to start ToolBox script to import it if I want to see those extrafanarts downloaded by fanart downloader. Is there a way to do this automatically ?

Hi,

You need the proper version of skin.info.service installed that matches your Kodi version to display movie set info.

You will also need to install script.moviesetart and use it to manually add your previously downloaded set artwork.

FYI to all who use this skin... AEON NOX SiLVO will always require a user to add any functionality not offered in Kodi core by using the best option IMHO currently available that requires little effort to maintain.

In other words there will never be any auto make it easy for me options unless it is available using Kodi core. I will never add full support for scripts or addons that I have no control over or are too complicated to maintain. The upside to this is the skin should work for over 95% of users that want to use this skin even if a script I use now is not or will not be updated in the near future.

A perfect example of this scenario is Artwork Downloader and how users currently need to add there own API key to restore full functionality. Even if you use LOGO view you can still manually download logos and any other art by adding it to your artwork DB using the choose art > add art option...

I AM NOT complaining since my ability to use Artwork Downloader outweighs my disappointment in having to manually do something to have a "perfect" library. I appreciate that it was even a possibility to click a button to do all of that for me in the first place.

Users will always have to work at adding things that are not part of Kodi core cause if you, the user, does not ask for it then a Kodi dev may never be interested in coding it, which IMHO is a travesty...

If something does not work right that is not the 3 currently required scripts and 2 resource addons, please let me know so I can take that into account and fix whatever the issue is

It is possible. Please explain in more detail what you are doing so I can recommend any changes to your current procedure. I don't have any experience using the "Backup Addon"

Extrafanart has to be enabled in the sidemenu for the skin to show anything other than the default fanart.

Please explain what you have done to enable showing extrafanart.

I must ask you to also read the FAQ I made in post #2 of this thread just in case you have not taken the time to do so already.
