Linux Install IPTV simple client add-on in Kodi
#1
Hello,

Is the add-on ready for Kodi on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) ?

When I try to install it, a message says that dependencies are not met.
I do not see more information in kodi.log

How are you trying to install it? Through apt-get?

Yes (package kodi-pvr-iptvsimple).

But apparently it was not installed. Today the xbmc add-on is enabled.

Sorry for the noise.

I have a linux mint 17 operating system and the stable release of kodi installed. I was able to download the "kodi-pvr-iptvsimple" package from the package store. I was then able to "enable the live TV as you have shown, but I don't get the configure popup screen. I can't find the package anywhere to configure it even though the enable button is checked on the live TV page. Any help on how I can find and configure on a linux system?

I'm running into the same issue. Went to PVR settings, and was told I needed to set up a backend. Apparently the only way to install on linux is via package:

I'm now able to enable PVR, but the addon is not listed in the addons section (whether enabled or disabled, in any category), and am thus unable to configure the kodi-pvr-iptvsimple addon.

Any thoughts?

It showed up in the addon list after the computer was restarted. I was then able to get to the configure part of the addon . But I was told I still need a tuner for it to work. That's where I am at the moment, figuring what tuner to get installed. Not sure if that means the tuner is the backend....

Indeed, after a second reboot, it came up in the list of PVR addons. Then just followed the directions from youtube videos for getting a good list of sources...
