Kodi = Buffering

Kodi = Buffering every minute or two.
External MPC-HC = No buffering at all.

That is the problem I am having currently. I thought I was insane, but have watched multiple movies via MPC-HC with no buffering at all....Kodi can only make it 1-2 minutes before buffering. It appears to be is simply a slow network, but why is MPC-HC able to play without a hiccup? Oh, but Kodi can play without a hiccup if the movie is played from the internal hard-drive.

My question is this normal? Anyone know a fix?

Info:
- 20-30 GB MKVs.
- 80-120 Mbit/s wired powerline ethernet
- 4010U i3
- 4 GB RAM

What I've tried:
- Messing with Samba, NFS, etc file directories in Kodi.
- Various cache settings within Kodi.

Yours is not the first post I've seen about this problem. If you do a search on buffering, I'm sure you'll find others in the same boat.

However, you should start by posting a debug log to xbmclogs.com or pastebin.com to help. Unfortunately, the wiki appears to be down right now, but the google cache version should be available to help you out.
