NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box)

What's the deinterlacing like on 1080i native interlaced content?
Not all of those, not yet anyway, this have been briefly discussed previously in this thread and the question have also been raised here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=228158

Kodi can switch among all refresh rates that the Nvidia Shield Console and its Android firmware/kernel/drivers supports, those are currently only 24, 50, and 60 Hz progressive output.

23.976p, 23.98p, 25i, 29.97i, 30i, 50i, 59.94i, 59.94p, and 60i are not supported because Nvidia/Google have not added support for them in Android, and no news if they will add them.

What about true native 23.976 Hz output when playing 23.976p videos in the future, will the Nvidia Shield Console hardware and be able to handle that on Android with firmware updates?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24p#23.976p

Or will it only ever be capable of 24p Hz output via 3:2 pulldown schemes for playback of 23.976 FPS videos? This is one of the most common question about high-end video players.

Same native Hz output question goes for frame rates 23.98p, 29.97p, 50i, 59.94i, 59.94p, 60i, and 60p which are all commonly used, but not as frequent used as 23.976p FPS.

Surely the Nvidia graphics hardware inside the chipset and GeForce drivers most be capable out 23.976p or? And if so could that mean the limitation is only in Android or the firmware?

Would that issue really be impossible for Nvidia to workaround for this first version of the Shield Console and resolved via future firmware updates if users express the need for it?

23.976p, 24p, 25i, 29.97i, 30i, 50p, 59.94p, 60p and more frame rates are even part of the Blu-ray specification for native video encoding

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray#Video

Blu-ray movies with 24p frame rate are actually rare, as most using 23.976p frame rate.
