It sounds like your IR receiver is not an eHome receiver. Open the Device Manager in Windows and see if your receiver is listed as a Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver under Human Interface Devices. This would explain why these commands are not read correctly, as they only work with true eHome receivers.

If you have the original remote, you could confirm which keys are sent out by using showkey.

Thanks Warner, I checked the device manager under Human Interface Devices and it's listed in device manager as 'Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver' in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers Section there is 'eHome Infrared Receiver'

I have the original remote so should I use showkey to discover what the keys are an edit them in the Harmony remote software accordingly?
